Can anyone recommend a hostel in Cancun or Mexico City?

Im planning a trip to Mexico next year and I really don’t want to pay $250 + for a hotel room when Im only 24 and really dont need that type of luxury. Ive researched a few of them online but I wanted some opinions if anyone has stayed in one before and how safe it is?
